With a name like Viuly.io (most notabley no .com) I'm wondering if it'll ever become a true contender to YT... but maybe alternative .ext's really are the future! I do hope. YT could use some competition. Plus decentralization and such good things, it sounds interesting...

Not entirely sure myself considering there doesn't seem to be anything given to me for the referral, so far. Either it's because you have to add a channel (which is kinda separate thing from just registering an account), or it's just that the whole thing is a public alpha in development, or I didn't read deep enough into material about the stuff.
I did, however, know initially that you'd get a bit of the VIU thing for not skipping the preroll ads, and as expected, a tiny amount was gained from viewing an ad. So, that's about as much as I know so far.
Aha, alright, promising prospects at least. It's certainly still better than what you get from YT (nothing, as far as I know?). Hope it garners a good base of users...
I hope so too, because the way the alpha is working already looks rather promising
